Hellebore and Barrenwort: Hostas Ideal Companion Plants
The making of a great garden is the selection and use of compatible
and complimentary plants. Hostas are the prominent and backbone plant
of most shade gardens but hostas alone do not make the garden. Selecting
great complimentary plants to your hostas which can accentuate and
highlight their dramatic texture, color, and form can make the difference
between having a good hosta garden and a great hosta garden. Dr. Sue
will discuss the colorful and diverse palette of two great hosta companion
plants: Hellebore and barrenwort. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more
about the range of species and hybrids of these two perennials and how to
effectively use them as complimentary plants to your hostas.
